Our first night in Dutch (Ghost Trip)

As posted by Matt, from Terri and John:

Here we are, inside the town of Dutch. On Friday evening, Eddie gave us the cabin keys and pointed us in the general direction of the town line and left us to our own volition. He’s going to be as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

The woods around the cabin are beautiful. I don’t see where people think it’s creepy here, but I guess when we get closer to where the Indians stayed and lived we’ll see what all the hubbub is about. Either way, we’re looking forward too it. As long as there’s no gore, I’m excited about being scared. John on the other hand likes whatever he can come across in the way of being terrified.

We got up early Saturday morning and hiked to the center of Dutch. Just beyond the “main street” were more sparse wooded areas that fanned out away from each other. Figuring staying in the middle is always good, we took the trail that led to the middle of all the trees and found a great camping spot about thirty minutes in. It’s beautiful here; nothing but forest as far as the eye can see and it’s quite obvious no one comes around the area we’re pitching out tents in.

Once we set up camp, we went into town. Speaking with the locals of Dutch, we quickly realized most find it hard to open up to us. John went into the few building on the main street and I spent time trying to find people outside who would be willing to talk.

I found an older woman named, Claire* who would only speak long enough to tell me we were crazy to be looking for the legend of Chief River Run and the Yutte tribe. I believe her exact words were, ‘Better people than you two have come to see what all the fear is about and regretted it. My suggestion…go away and never come back.’ She didn’t really scare me per se, but she definitely got my attention.

John on the other hand spoke to a man named, Larry*. He told him the Chief’s spirit gets restless and angry every time someone comes or goes into the town of Dutch. Apparently, from the time he died, he’s wanted his descendents to stay here, with his spirit, and those who have found it to be too weird leave. The scary part is those who leave, find themselves in the middle of terrible things happening to them and their families. Deadly illnesses, even death has found several of those and their family members who’ve left Dutch. If you’re not a direct descendent of the Chief, you also come across unexplainable ‘things’ that are never good.

So, we’re off to see what we can find on our own. We hope to talk to more people while we’re here. Tomorrow we’re going to do some digging, literally, in the camping area we’re staying in. It’s been said things have been buried around Dutch—mostly in the wooded area—by the Chief and that’s one of the biggest reasons he stays…to watch over them and make sure no one steels them. We don’t plan on pilfering, just checking it out. Wish us luck.

OMG!!! The ghost took the words too. LOL. Either this is currently being written or the ghost didn't want us to read their story. It don't matter, I'll be back with my special googles. They can see disappearing words. LOL. Hey, I couldn't help myself, its Starr's fault. Hehehehe...
Hey, someone has to keep the group laughing while our regular ladies Terri and Starr are too busy to bring some cheers.
